We had a great Sunday starting off with a wonderful treat at one of the churches in town. They were having a special presentation put on by some of the young people in town and some associated with Hope Center here. It was a great drama that lasted about an hour and 1/2 then we had some great music from a special group and then a sermon and then to top it off a wedding, yes that is correct a wedding at the end of the service which is down quite often. I guess this way you don't have to worry if you offend someone by not inviting them to the wedding you say you just should have been at church on Sunday.
After church we walked over and had Ukrainian pizza which was good a bit difference from ours, now as much cheese no pepperoni but other good things. then it was back to Hope Center and ready for one of the challenges of the day. The IVA boys challenged us to a game of volleyball, well needless to say we put up one heck of a fight but lost 3-0. I mean how would it have looked if we over the hill 50-60 age group of men and ladies beat these young boys so we were gracious and let them win. Of course they did have the all powerful Lori Farmer on their team, you know one of those that we train in America and then when the big game comes about they go back to their home country and play for them. Oh well enough whining about us losing. It was fun and it made them feel better so that is good.
Then we moved up to Jim and Shari's place and started cooking hot dogs (the specialty of Shari) over the open fire pit and marsh mellows which the boys loved. I think this is the first time that they had them. then after dinner a time of sharing by Mr. Dave and others along with another challenge of arm wrestling which we lost again. Oh well I think we see a pattern here.
It was a fun day for all of us and the boys really enjoyed it as well. More later see the pictures below from Sunday. John
