Vocational school

Here are some shots of the wood shop area that Jim has set up for the IVA boys as they learn new ways of doing thigs. One of the things Jim is teaching them is to think through what they want to do first by drawing it out on a peice of paper and working through all the processes instead of just sitting down and making something. This will help them in the long run to make better decisions instaed of waiting for someone to tell them what to do. the young man in the botton right picture is practicing on the computer for his driving test. They use this program to learn certain skills and applying the law. While we were watching this young fellow ran 3 stop signs going about 70, I think he needs to practice some more. But but getting their drivers license they will be able to get a much better job in town, maybe become a truck driver or taxi driver. 8 of the fellows passed their tests recently and got their license so they are so excited and once they finish with the program many of them will have jobs with businesses in the city. Great job guys.
